1. I have never - that's NEVER - seen a photo of Suka younger than
about age 20-ish! We only have two photos of his mother,
one of his father, and only recent ones of his siblings.
-
So imagine my shock and freaking-out-ed-ness when one of his
cousins posted this on Facebook:
That's Suka in the middle row 2nd from right.
It actually got me a bit emotional, thinking of him that young,
and seeing that smiling face, with all his cuz's!
I'm stoked to have this photo... it really means alot.

2. In all the madness online about bin Laden's death, I was very
moved by this photo:
It's the pres and his team watching the actual raid going down, live.
This really brought that moment to life for me. So intense.
I'm so proud to be American, and I'm so proud of our servicemen
for finally bringing him down.

3. It has been about seven years since my BFF at the time, Kriss-
aka "Hotch," began her fight against breast cancer.
The only way we could deal was through humor.
I called her "Cancer Victim" as if it was her name,
until about half way through treatment, when I started calling her
"Cancer Vixen." We joked with each other about all the little surprises
and yuckies and ins and outs of cancer and chemo... and
she fought and fought... and won!
It's been six years since she was officially deemed 'in remission.'
Here, at my wedding, she was still in the fight:
-
She has been on my mind lately because of our dear friend
Alexis Kaufusi.
Alexis is now in a fight of her own, as many of you know.
She's been dealt some devastating blows, and she's
just kept on fighting! We are so proud of her.
-
-
Our friend Tina Salmon came up with the idea to create and sell
decals to help with some funds... Lance and Houston helped out
and our family also chipped in some time and came up with these:
-
We are certainly cheering, praying and thinking of Alexis each day.

...BUT... I reverted back to my evil ways, and found some Cancer Gems
(note: these are a lil 'cleaner' than some we found during Kriss' battle-
cuz there are alot more chances to be naughty when discussing the 'Ta Ta's'...)
-
Here: a few cancer treats I sent to Fus to hopefully bring a smile to her gorgeous,
cancer-beating, surviving face:

(yes, that one might be my fave...)

See? I told you this was kind of a dramatic post.
Sorry... but don't think that means I won't be posting more
cancer treats soon! I luv 'em ;)
