Dad thoughts v. Mom thoughts
I've come across an absolutely hilarious website-
If you have a minute, it's a must-check-out.
They've got funny insights into parenthood, categories such as
"My Wife Just Said..."
and "Instructional Diagrams" like the following:
(click any pic to enlarge)
**I may or may not have had one or four of these thoughts. Allegedly.
-
**True. All true.
-
And just cuz it made me laugh, I included this:
**I love the hand/foot marks on the baby, and I LOVE the bum marks
at the end of the toddler's walk!
Ahhh, parenthood.

boys vs. girls
-
This is an oldie but a goodie:
-
LITTLE BOYS and LITTLE GIRLS
-
"Equal" is not always synonymous with "the same."
Men and women are created equal. But, boys and girls are not born the same.
-
1.You throw a little girl a ball, and it will hit her in the nose. You throw a little boy a ball, and he will try to catch it. Then it will hit him in the nose.
-
2.You dress your little girl in her Easter Sunday best, and she'll look just as pretty when you finally make it to church an hour later. You dress a boy in his Easter Sunday best, and he'll somehow find every mud puddle from your home to the church, even if you're driving there.
-
3.Boys' rooms are usually messy. Girls' rooms are usually messy, except it's a good smelling mess.
-
4.A baby girl will pick up a stick and look in wonderment at what nature has made. A baby boy will pick up a stick and turn it into a gun.
-
5.When girls play with Barbie and Ken dolls, they like to dress them up and play house with them. When boys play with Barbie and Ken dolls, they like to tear off their appendages.
-
6.Boys couldn't care less if their hair is unruly. If their bangs got cut a quarter-inch too short, girls would rather lock themselves in their room for two weeks than be seen in public.
-
7.Baby girls find mommy's makeup and almost instinctively start painting their face. Baby boys find mommy's makeup and almost instinctively start painting the walls.
-
8.If a girl accidentally burps, she will be embarrassed. If a boy accidentally burps, he will follow it with a dozen fake belches.
-
9.Boys grow their fingernails long because they're too lazy to cut them. Girls grow their fingernails long -- not because they look nice -- but because they can dig them into a boys arm.
-
10.Girls are attracted to boys, even at an early age. At an early age, boys are attracted to dirt.
-
11.By the age of 6, boys will stop giving their dad kisses. By the age of 6, girls will stop giving their dad kisses unless he bribes them with candy.
-
12.Most baby girls talk before boys do. Before boys talk, they learn how to make machine-gun noises.
-
13.Girls will cry if someone dies in a movie. Boys will cry if you turn off the VCR after they've watched "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie three times in a row.
-
14.Girls turn into women. Boys turn into bigger boys.
===
In all seriousness, a series of studies done on
little girls and little boys found the following:
-
*Boys like MOTION.
And they prefer mechanical motion (such as windshield wipers)
over human motion (like a person talking).
-
*Boys have MOVES.
While boys and girls actually start walking and such at the same time,
boys wiggle, squirm and kick much more than girls.
(They also are much more likely to end up in the ER with injuries.)
-
*Boys are more EMOTIONAL than you think.
Boys tend to be more easily agitated than girls. They also have a
harder time self-soothing and tend to be more upset than they appear.
-
*Boys love a CROWD.
Boys prefer looking at groups of faces rather than one face.
In fact, they'd rather look at a mobile than a single face.
-
*Boys are [comparitively] FEARLESS.
Boys show fear later and less often than girls.
Also, when a mom shows fear in her face, a girl will slow or stop
what she's doing while a boy will continue.
---
*Girls are made to MIMIC.
As early as THREE hours of age, girls excel at imitation (a precursor
to back-and-forth interaction.) As they grow, girls imitate human behaviors
(such as holding a baby) much earlier than boys, BUT are on pace with boys
in imitating non-human behaviors (like watering plants.)
-
*Girls are good with their HANDS.
Girls are better with fine motor skills from infant age to preschool age
(including holding spoons, using toys and writing)
-
*Girls may be better LISTENERS.
Girls and boys are no different when it comes to listening to non-human
sounds- such as a rattle. But girls are more attuned than boys to human
voices, and actually prefer the sound to other sounds.
-
*Girls like FACE TIME.
Girls are more likely to establish eye contact, and like individual faces-
particularly women's. Girls are also much more skilled at reading emotional
expressions. They can interpret facial expressions earlier, better and faster
than boys.
-
*Girls TALK sooner.
Doctors assume it's all the extra watching and listening that the girls are doing
that helps them talk sooner than most boys. They start gesturing first and
understand what you are saying before boys will. At 16 months many girls
average 100-word vocabularies, while boys are at about 30.
BUT, by age 2 1/2, they are back on pace with each other.
---
---
Any thoughts?
Having grown up with four brothers,
and now having a boy and a girl,
I found this fascinating.
And true.

for all my girlzz
Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
Therefore, if you give her any crap...
be ready to receive a ton of sh%#.

SERIOUSLY !? ...you really thought i needed to hear that?
Story Number One.
[In the middle of the night, there was a noise loud enough
to wake up both me and Suka. Thinking it was Peli, I roll out of bed
and go look in on him. He's sleeping and everything seems fine,
so I go get back in bed. As I climb in...]
-
Suka says: "What was that?"
-
I say: "A Bad Guy. I'm gonna go beat him up. You stay here."
===
===
Story Number Two.
[Yesterday, I was asking Suka if he wanted me to help him carry
something in from the car. Looking at me like the
crazy eight-month-pregnant-chick I am...]
-
Suka says: "No, I can get it."
-
I say: "I can help! I'm not a wuss!"
-
PELI says: "You're a wuss, Mom!!"
-
I think: Thank you, Son.
===
===
Story Number Three.
[And finally, yesterday I was explaining to Suka that
the baby had dropped, so I had been able to breathe a little better
and am not quite so uncomfortable...]
-
Suka says: "Is that why you weren't grouchy today?"
-
I think: Isn't it... um... refreshing to have kind, sweet people in your home
who believe that protecting your tender feelings is more important
than being flat-out honest to your hormonal self?!
