1. How in the world did I carry, deliver and even begin to raise two children?
-
2. In front of me right now is: Peli, sorting laundry into 2 piles- his and Raini's (yes, this was really a homework assignment. Thanks, Ms. N!!)
-
3. Life's too slow when you want to get it over with, and way too fast when you wanna slow down and enjoy it.
-
4. Laie, Hawaii - I think of as "our place".
-
5. It's fun to cook and bake- especially when it turns out Awesome!
-
6. This is easy for me to be: calm in a crisis. -
7. I like to be: prepared. And organized, even though my house has toys lying around 24/7.
-
8. Something I will never know: I know there are things about my husband's life and past that I will probably never know. That may be a good thing or a not-so-good thing, who knows? ;) *I'll also never know how "those moms" do it- you know, the ones who are always busy, crafty, active, making things, cooking, everything's clean... do-it-all-perfectly's... ;)
-
9. Something I'm very much excited about: I'm SO excited about Peli's experience so far at school. He's been so enthusiastic and happy about it, he loves his teacher and every day he comes home feeling happy and like he accomplished something. What more could a mom want for her first Kindergartner?
-
10. Something that was well worth it: My surgery. And my yucky pregnancy with Raini. And my favorite pan that I use for every single meal in my life!
-
And now, a topic: "STICKY"
What kind of magnets do you have on your fridge? -- Lots of "Cars" characters, a few "Dora" characters, a Fiji one and one that says "Queen Bee-atch". I know, you're surprised.
What’s your preferred type of glue? Elmers. And Krazy. Did you know you can use Elmers white glue in place of one of those 'pore strips' (Biore)?? Slather some glue onto the area, let dry completely, and peel off! Works just like a pore strip. Love those things. And I use Krazy glue to seal off "owies"- the kids and my own!
When is it good to feel sticky? Never. I hate sticky.
What was the last thing you wrote upon a Post-It? A list of what I needed at the store.
How much pancake syrup do you put on your pancakes? Medium-to-alot. But I looove the butter.
The following was a "30 Days of Me" activity, where you're supposed to answer one question each day. I am doing it all right now. I can if I want! You're not the boss of me!
-
Day 1- Favorite Song: There is no way on earth I could answer this with one song. I am a true lover of music, and my 'faves' run the gamet from Eminem to Carrie Underwood to Adele to Gaga to movie soundtracks... There's just no way to narrow that down.
-
Day 2- Favorite Movie: My go-to answer to this question has long been The Last of the Mohicans. There are so many awesome things about that show. I do love all the fast-paced, adrenaline-packed action flicks. And funny, girl-dramady shows like Ya-Ya Sisterhood...
-
Day 3- Favorite Television Show: Again, need some serious honing down. In the summer: The Closer, Burn Notice, Rizzoli and Isles. My super-new FAVE is Suits- it rocks!- if you haven't seen it- watch it now! During the regular season, I love House, NCIS and NCIS LA, Mentalist, and last year I got into Body of Proof... I also thoroughly enjoy random cheesy reality shows ;)
-
Day 4- Favorite Book: I was very intrigued and blown away with the book "House Rules" by Jodi Picoult. I also loved Lincoln Lawyer and other Michael Connelly books. There's a Hollywood Beauty Secrets book I actually use the tips from. But I'd probably have to say I was completely enthralled and entertained with The Hunger Games- could not put it down!
-
Day 5- Favorite Quote: "There is no chance, no destiny, no fate, that can circumvent or hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul." --This was on the wall of my A Capella teacher's classroom, and I've never forgotten it.
-
Day 6- Most Treasured Item: Photos, scrapbooks, family history files.
-
Day 7- A Photo That Makes You Happy: Photo-booth pics of me, Suka and the kids- random, funny moments. I also love Peli's polynesian portraits from when he was one year old. And I'm addicted to taking random shots of the kids all the time. Candid moments.
-
Day 8- Something You Hate: Being hot and sweaty. And, in general, disrespect and un-appreciation.
-
Day 9- Something That Makes Your Life Easier: the INTERNET! yay!! And right now, my bike and bike trailer- it's our transpo to kindergarten, and it's awesome. And may I say Air Conditioning?!
-
Day 10- A Photo Taken Over 10 Years Ago of You:
and a current one:
(my hair's a bit lighter than this, of course,
cuz it changes about ever 4.5 weeks ;)
Day 11- Favorite Band/Artist: Someone who seems to do it all right (singing, songs, dance, videos) is Beyonce, ya know?? Love her. I always adored Boyz II Men, and I do love Eminem too.
-
Day 12- Something you are OCD about: Keeping track of my purse/keys/cellphone. And vacuuming my family room every day.
-
Day 13- Something or Someone that has had a huge impact on your life: All my family- Parents, G-parents, brothers, cousins, aunts and uncles. Outside of family, there are so many other people that come to mind- teachers, friends. I'm someone who genuinely is affected by pretty much every one I am in contact with. For 'something,' I'd have to say Music. And football, growing up with all boys ;)
-
Day 14- Somewhere You’d Love to Travel: For somewhere I've already been: Hawaii, and Fiji! For somewhere I've not been: Italy, France...
-
Day 15- Describe Your Dream Home or show us a picture: A medium-sized home with big windows and large, open spaces inside. A nice, big bathtub. And a big, HUGE porch!
-
Day 16- Who Do You Do the Most Crazy Things With OR What is the Most Crazy Thing You’ve Done? I shouldn't rat out the guilty ;) , but one crazy thing I did was lay on the top of a station wagon while it was being driven (!!). Stupid. Another 'crazy' thing was flying to Hawaii for ten days on vacay- Alone!!
-
Day 17- Your Biggest Insecurity: My biggest insecurity is usually the shape I'm in (as well as some of the effects of my surgery).
Something About Yourself You Are Proud Of: My self-confidence and ability to be self-reliant.
-
Day 18- Wedding Talk (share stories, photos, both, anything having to do with your wedding, the one you had or the one you dream of): My wedding reception was exactly what I wanted it to be. My goal from the very beginning was two things: I wanted people to eat, and I wanted a more casual environment- music, chill, fun... and no 'line.'
We did an awesome job at not spending much money. We had dinner, dancing, music... everyone just hung out and chatted and ate and it was just a casual, happy evening. My bridesmaids wore sarongs and flip-flops (I wore flip-flops as well!). We had a real-size poster of Dallas in his groomsman get-up from his mission. His not being there is the only thing I felt bad about that day! Oh, and that Dad got sick. He was very ill at the temple and we didn't think he'd make it to the reception, but he did!
Our friends who helped us with the food surprised us with a full PCC-type show with dances from all the islands, including costumes and everything! It was awesome. I remember feeling relaxed and just laughing and talking with friends and family.
The temple sealing was beautiful. One specific thing I remember about it was right after the official sealing had finished, he told us that he felt prompted to tell us that there were spirits all around the room visiting from the other side. Then he said, 'Specifically, parents.' This meant alot to Suka and me, as Suka's parents have both passed. That was a special moment.
-
Day 19- A talent/hobby of yours: Scrapbooking, blogging, cooking and recipes, family history.
-
Day 20- Something you wished you could forget: I think there are always people in our past who caused feelings that we wished we could forget, right?
-
Day 21- A recipe you love: Oh no. Over the last 4 years, I've collected a million recipes! I've spent alot of time cooking, trying new things, adjusting old things... I've put together a wonderful recipe book and we also post our faves on our Nielsen family recipe blog. One of my fave recipes is mom's Sombrero Dip we have during Superbowl time!
-
Day 22- Some of Your Favorite Websites: Pinterest, Facebook, StumbleUpon, several blogs I stalk, TMZ (for celebrity gossip, of course!)... and I've also been playing alot of Words With Friends lately!
-
Day 23- Something you love to watch on youtube (or better yet a youtube video of yourself): I just adore the classic Evolution of Dance. CanNOT watch it without laughing. Can NOT.
Day 24- Where You Live? Tell us or show us about where you live. I live in a small city outside of Hurricane, UT- about 15 mins from St. George. It is HOT! But I really have loved the people, our ward, Peli's school... it's a lovely place to live. I'm just looking forward to the under-100-degree days!
-
Day 25- Who is/are your best friends? My mom, my kids, Cand and Shell.
-
Day 26- Favorite clothing store. Don't think I have one. There's a website I love to buy from cuz it's easy, casual stuff for great prices.
-
Day 27- Worst Habit: Getting anxious, stressed and upset too easily... I'm sensitive.
-
Day 28- What’s in your purse, backpack or computer bag? Wallet, phone, keys, mini first aid kit w/ tweezers, nail clippers, neosporin and bandaids, mini bag w/ lotion, nail file, bobby pin, medicines, life savers, camera, lipstick, crayons... (I have one of those bags you could probably live out of for a week!)
-
Day 29- Who has gotten you through the most? my mom
-
Day 30- A dream for the future beyond the next year…think long term: To be a bit more secure financially, for Suka to begin working towards his Master's.
-
---Some of these were hard!! What are your answers?
Alyssa Milano is a great 'tweeter.' She is on Twitter @alyssa_milano and she posts VERY interesting, captivating and intelligent things. Last week, she posted a link to an article titled, "20 Questions You Should Ask Yourself Every Sunday." Here's a shot at my answers this week:
1.What did I learn last week?
--That I have lots of tender mercies in my everyday life. I'm surrounded by good people and I'm blessed with sweet surprises every now and then.
-
2.What was my greatest accomplishment over the past week?
--My mom telling me my house was "so clean." (I know, it sounds dumb but who doesn't want their mom to tell them that?!) **OH!! And making my OWN LAUNDRY DETERGENT! Even I can't believe I did it.
-
3.Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why?
--I don't know about 'moment,' but my parents came for a quick visit and that was awesome.

5.What can I do right now to make the week less stressful?
--Stay on budget.
-
6.What have I struggled with in the past that might also affect the upcoming week?
--Letting myself get over-anxious when there's no need.
-
7.What was last week’s biggest time sink?
--Watching the Casey Anthony trial. I'm obsessed. I followed the story daily when it was actually happening three years ago, so now that the trial is playing out, it's so personal and tragic, and the process is so fascinating. I'm definitely invested.
-
8.Am I carrying any excess baggage into the week that can be dropped?
--Not that I can think of.
-
9.What have I been avoiding that needs to get done?
--Those ignored boxes.
-
10.What opportunities are still on the table?
--A possible bonus from one of Suka's jobs. (yay!!) And my possibly doing some work from home.
-
11.Is there anyone I’ve been meaning to talk to?
--Yes! One of my brothers, an old friend I wanted to call a few days ago but didn't and one of my cousins.
-
12.Is there anyone that deserves a big ‘Thank You’?
--Yes, my bishop's wife and sunday school teaching partner. She did something awesome for me last week and it made me feel very special and important, and was completely self-less and sweet. Also, one of my brothers and my mom.
-
13.How can I help someone else this coming week?
--This one's got me thinking....
-
14.What are my top 3 goals for the next 3 years?
--1. Potentially buy a house (??), 2. Continue working on savings and paying off student loans, 3. Keeping my kids happy and healthy
-
15. Have any of my recent actions moved me closer to my goals?
--Yes. I believe (and hope) I'm working toward all three.
-
16.What’s the next step for each goal?
--1. Settling in to our new job and security, 2. obvious, 3. there are about 248 answers for this one.
-

-
18.What are my fears?
--Losing someone I love. Struggling financially. Health problems for me or my family/friends.
-
19.What am I most grateful for?
--My children and hubs. My family. Our health and blessings. My AWESOME HOUSE!!
-
20.If I knew I only had one week to live, who would I spend my time with?
--My kids, husband, parents, brothers and their families.
When you are angry, how do you look? Shoulders tense and shrugged, eyebrows tight, teeth grinding...
When are you happiest? With my kids (when they aren't fighting or throwing a tantrum, mind you!); Enjoying a great movie or show; Hangin' with my fam; Sharing ideas, laughs and thoughts
When have you felt lonely? The few weeks after having my daughter; when I was in college (weird, right?)
When do you feel proud? When I accomplish a daunting task; When I make a great-tasting meal or new recipe for my family; When we've made our kid's birthday special; When my brothers make me proud
When was the last time you cried and why? A couple of days ago- I was having 'a moment'... a bit overwhelmed with two cranky kids one loooong morning...
When a friend was in an embarrassing situation, what did you do? Help her. And laugh.
When it might hurt their feelings, how do you feel about telling your friends the truth? There have been times I have not been completely honest, if I felt it was an unnecessary opinion or piece of information. But there have been times I've been painfully honest, if I felt it would help that person or our relationship... or my own conscience. That can be very difficult, and it can tear you apart OR bring you super close.
When might it be bad to be honest? To hurt someone's feelings for no good reason is unnecessary.
When someone picks on someone else, how do you feel? What do you do? Immediately, it makes me completely uncomfortable. I will defend someone if I can, and I've also told someone they've taken it too far and asked them to stop. That's not easy to do, but it's certainly worth it. I also wonder why the 'picker' needs to do it... there's usually a deep reason.
When were you frightened? When my daughter was admitted to the hospital at seven months old with dehydration. When my brother went down in a football game and couldn't move. When my mom was in the middle of some serious medical issues last year.
When you have a problem who do you talk to? Why? My mom. I feel like she understands alot of my problems and complaints, she knows me better than anyone, and she's there to listen and help.
and I'm sentimental about things that probably wouldn't mean anything to a 'normal' person.
I've owned a brown Buick, a red Jeep, a black F150, a black Avalanche, and a blue Impala.
I miss the Jeep and the Avalanche most.
I think I look better with bangs...
but by about mid-afternoon, having bangs hang in my face drives me CRAZY!!!! and I must clip them back.
I love to lose myself in TV shows and movies.
I also love to lose myself in books.
I just finished the Hunger Games trilogy.
It was AWESOME! Expertly and exquisitely written- I couldn't put them down.
I'm addicted to Diet Mountain Dew.
You'd be hard-pressed to find me without one at any time, in any place.
My laptop is experiencing some mental disorders... I'm pretty sure it's on it's deathbed.
I've been trying to make sure I have everything off my laptop that's important... and I feel like my house is on fire and I'm deciding what to save.
I love my daughter's wild, curly hair... but it's a pain in the rear to keep untangled. (and I'm even a professional!!)
I'm really, really good at composing letters. If I need to get a strong point across- I can compose a letter or email that is strong and pointed, but still professional and not unkind.
I don't really understand people who, for no other reason than they like it, live in a strictly-scheduled, rigid manner.
I wrote letters to each of my children before they were actually born (toward the end of each pregnancy.)
I have chronic headaches and the occasional migraine.
I've always thought my mom is beautiful.
I have had a love of music- particularly hip-hop and R&B- since I can ever remember.
I love to dance, but I don't actually do it that often.
I've always believed that my dad's job helped expose us to different places, different kinds of people and different ways people live.
I've always felt grateful for that.
My grandpa Wally served his mission in New Zealand and just adored not only the Maori people, but all polynesians. Growing up we watched him- an older, balding Mormon dude, mind you- do the Haka and speak to people in languages we couldn't understand. I've wondered if that had anything to do with my getting involved with my husband despite all our differences.
I love apples- the really dark, dark red delicious ones.
I hate sour things.
I love taking long baths...
but it seems like I only give myself permission to take baths regularly when I'm pregnant.
I regret not playing sports when I was younger.
I also regret not getting more involved in drama or debate.
When I was young, I dreamed of being a famous actor or singer.
I actually think I would have made a good lawyer.
Or surgeon.
I love watching surgery shows and medical documentaries.
I used to do alot of scrapbooking.
I learned how to braid by playing with my cousin Candisse's hair during a church meeting when I was very young.
I like the way acrylic nails look on my hands, but I don't get them because it slows down my typing.
I type 87 words per minute. (Fastest on record was 92. But who's counting?)
I think it's amazing when my son does things that remind me of myself...
but it also makes me nervous.
I miss both my grandpas.
I've never understood how they possibly could have been needed more on the other side than here with their families.
Having said that, I do have faith that there was a reason and that they are doing important things and watching over us.
Having said that, I often think about how much fun they'd be having right now- seeing all the great-grand-kids and watching us with our own families and seeing my brothers accomplish all they are.
My kids have never stayed with a babysitter- (not counting my mom taking care of Peli when he was a baby and I was working while Suka was in school.)
I know that some people might think that's weird... but each year, we've had different reasons for it.
It drives me crazy that my husband loses everything. ...wallet, keys, phone...
It drives me more crazy that my efforts to help- giving him a bowl, a hook, a shelf- don't help in the least.
I feel bad that my husband's parents passed away.
I wish I could have known them.
I'm completely aware of how stubborn I am, and I wouldn't change it.
But I'm also aware it gets me into trouble.
I've only run a car out of gas one time in my life- and it was on my way to Bear Lake. We'd made it to the top of the mountain, and were actually able to cruise alllll the way down to the Chevron at the bottom.
I still can't believe we made it.
I still remember how hard it was to steer without power steering on!
I would have hated being a pioneer.
I've been working hard on my genealogy for a year now.
I'm absolutely stunned at the stories, photos, names and history I've been able to find. 'Genealogy' always sounded so boring to me... but it has been soooo addicting.
It has also brought me closer with my Grandma Wonderful. She has helped me so much with our family history. She has encouraged me, told me things I'd never have known otherwise, given me boxes full of documents and such... it's been a blessing to spend more time with her.
It's been terrible to feel like I'm losing my other grandma. I miss her very much, even though she's still here.
There have been a few times I've hated being so tall...
but now I love it.
I also love tall shoes (especially wedges).
I take criticism too seriously... it stays with me and it lingers on my mind for days and days.
I'm in awe of how kind and thoughtful people can be.
Once I'd left my job to stay home full-time, I had the time to remember how much I enjoy cooking.
Last month, I finally combined and typed up all my and my family's recipes and compiled them into a book.
The week of Christmas, I started a new part-time job.
I wear gigantic earrings. I love them.
I know that my husband prefers smaller, daintier earrings.
I love night-time. I'm totally a night person...
even though currently, with my two little darlings up around 6 or 7, it seems more and more difficult to stay up...
I genuinely think my dad is truly funny.
I've wondered if his own confidence is why my brothers and I have self-confidence.
My dad and my brother Lance have an amazing ability to talk to anyone as if they were their best friends...
I envy that.
I think it's weird how different my relationships with each of my brothers is.
I used to want a sister soooooooo badly, but there was a point when I came to terms with the fact that I'd never have one.
I have two cousins who together, when we were young, the three of us used to be the only girls in a huge family of boy cousins.
They are my sisters, and have loved me and supported me unconditionally my whole life.
I love potato chips, even though I know that's not a good thing.
I adore my children's personalities.
I've wondered why Max & Ruby don't have parents. And why Dora's allowed to go off into the mountains and rivers and forest without supervision.
Modern Family is the only show that makes me laugh- out loud- every single time I watch it.
I vacuum the floor every day...
but I assure you there's nothing else cleaning-related that I'm that obsessed with.
I still have all my Barbies and Barbie stuff from when I was little...
I haven't looked at most of it for years, but I'm looking forward to getting out sometime with Raini.
I always carry a fairly large purse, and I've often referred to my purses as "The Bag of Life."
I've joked that I could live off it's contents for a good week if I had to.
I really believe that's probably about right.
As someone who petitioned for my husband's permanent residency in this country, and spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars working to attain his residency (green card), I have my own reasons for thinking it would be so unfair if the government gave a bunch of people a free pass.
When I was younger, I was always hot. Now I seem to always be cold.
As a child, the pretend name I always used when playing was Stephanie.
I almost got to go to France in Junior High... but the trip was cancelled at the last minute.
I love playing Wii Play and Wii Sports.
I could read trashy celebrity magazines for hours! And I check out TMZ just about every day.
I like wearing lipstick and lip gloss, but I HATE reapplying when lipstick wears off, and I cant' stand it when my hair sticks to my lip gloss- so I don't really wear it that much.
I can't believe it's 2011. Probably 'cuz I remember thinking that the year 2000 was waaaay off in the future and that by then, we'd be driving around in hovercrafts and wearing silver spacesuits. I'm glad we're still just wearing jeans and drinking Diet Mountain Dew. ;)
Q. _____ and _____ make a quick and easy dinner. A. Spaghetti; garlic bread - Q. _____ is the book I'm reading right now. A. Dirty Little Secrets From Otherwise Perfect Moms - Q. Or lamb. And I'm not a big fan of anything really really spicy. - Q. My typical breakfast includes _____ and _____. A. Diet Mountain Dew. If Suka's home, he cooks awesome breakfasts. And when I'm pregnant I have to eat dry toast in the morning. Other than that... not a big breakfast person. - Five Questions: Q. I move over pretty early, but sometimes I'll stay half in-half out of the lane so no one else can pass me up ;) - Q. If you had the time and resources, what type of volunteer work would you enjoy doing? A. Probably something in the medical field- either in research or helping patients.
Q. How long do you take to respond to emails?
A. I will respond to emails immediately, unless for example it's regarding something serious that I want to take time to think about first.
Q. What's your usual response when, in classes or seminars, you're asked to name three interesting things about yourself?
A. I will usually mention my ties to football, my Mole Triangle (I have three moles on my cheek that form a triangle), and that my favorite place is Hawaii.
Part Two: Name three other things you might not say in a seminar.
A. I'm good with words (I can debate well, write articulate letters, etc.), I have good natural rhythm/love to dance, and I feel more "complete" when I'm driving a big truck.
Q. When you bake or cook, do you follow a recipe exactly? A. Usually NO! I'm not afraid to play with measurements or adjust ingredients here and there. The things I love to make the most, I don't even have recipes for! There are times, though, that I will follow a recipe... like if I'm trying a new Rachael Ray meal, for example. But after I've made it 'by the book' one time, I'll play with it after that ;) - Now it's your turn! Take a stab at these questions!

"For what it’s worth:
It’s never too late or, in my case, too early,
to be whoever you want to be.
There’s no time limit; stop whenever you want.
You can change or stay the same; there are no rules to this thing.
We can make the best or the worst of it.
I hope you make the best of it.
And I hope you see things that startle you.
I hope you feel things you never felt before.
I hope you meet people with a different point of view.
I hope you live a life you’re proud of.
If you find that you’re not,
I hope you have the strength to start all over again."
R - Right or Left-handed: Right S - Siblings: Lance, Dallas, Matt, Houston T - Time you wake up: Due to this lovely pregnancy, I've been waking up around 4am for about an hour, then going back to sleep until whenever Peli gets up- U- Underwear: Gs V - Vegetable you dislike: I honestly can't think of one right now! Z - Zoo favorite: I like water animals, but I do NOT like the way the zoo smells!
My uncle once: helped me fix a flat tire I suffered after being run off the road by a crazy motorcycle driver who had been following us and chasing us down for miles!
Never in my life: have I had, or will I have, the desire to jump out of a plane, off a building or off a cliff! If you like that kind of stuff, more power to ya, but I have no desire.
When I was five: our next door neighbor was a lady named Vada, who I called Auntie Vada. Every morning she’d sit on her front porch, smoke a cig and braid her long, blonde hair up over her head like a crown. My mom used to do my hair like that sometimes too. And Auntie Vada made the best peanut butter cookies, too.
High School was: fine! I learned a lot about myself and other people, and tried to do well in school. I didn’t have a lot of the drama everyone else seems to have.
I will never forget: the first time I thought I’d met the man I thought I’d marry.
I once met: President Monson and he made fun of Dallas’ backwards baseball hat! We also met John Lithgow once at LaBeau’s up at Bear Lake.
There’s this girl I know who: is the only person I can think of who really betrayed me as a friend.
Once, at the store: I had to stop and leave everything and RUN to the bathroom cuz I was gonna be sick! So lame.
By noon, I’m usually: running out of energy… getting tired (I blame pregnancy)
Last night: We saw Monsters vs. Aliens and ate Chinese takeout (both are rare for us!)
If I only had: the chance to meet Suka’s parents! That would be awesome. (It would also be fantastic to have enough $$ to pay off our car and student loan!)
Next time I go to church: I’ll only have about a month left of pregnancy!
What worries me most: I usually worry about losing someone or someone getting hurt, BUT lately, I’ve been worrying that I’ll be the one lost… and then what would my poor hubs do with two kids!?!?!
When I turn my head left, I see: the wall.
When I turn my head right, I see: Peli sleeping on his stomach (the way I sleep when I’m not knocked up).
You know I’m tired when: I have no patience and get short-tempered!
What I miss most about the eighties: the hair! And neon freaky clothes. And makeup.
If I was a character in Shakespeare, I’d be: that’s hard! Probably one of the characters that gets to use smart-alec statements to teach someone a lesson…
By this time next year: I’ll have TWO kids! A FOUR year old and a baby who’s almost ONE!
A better name for me would be: I never thought “Brittany” fit me at all! But I also don’t know what name would… any ideas?!
I have a hard time understanding: how the people I see on talk shows and court shows on TV actually make through life. They are CRAZY! And not-so-bright. I know, I'm mean?
If I ever go back to school: I always wanted to go into medicine. Love surgery.
You know I like you if: I tease you. I don’t make fun of people I don’t like. That really doesn’t make sense, does it!
If I ever won an award, the first person I’d thank would be: my parents.
Take my advice: When deciding whether to marry someone, things like kindness, patience and helpfulness are infinitely more important than other things that seem so important when you’re young.
My ideal breakfast is: I love my dad’s hash browns, and Suka’s eggs. And bacon on toast with ketchup- my mom’s special version of a breakfast BLT.
A song I love, but do not have is: there’s no way I can answer this one…
If you visit my hometown, I suggest: It’s a pretty big city with lots to do… maybe a football game?!
Why won’t people: treat their kids better?
If you spend the night at my house: we’re usually chillin’ with some grub and a dvd. We used to be night owls, but with me being pregnant now… not so much!
I’d stop my wedding for: if I thought I was making a mistake, I guess.
The world could do without: prejudice.
I’d rather lick the belly of a cockroach than: ewwwwwwww I can’t even think of anything!
My favorite blonde is: my mom.
Paper clips are more useful than: rubber bands. Okay, probably not.
If I do anything well, it’s: debate or argue a point.
And by the way: I’m really really really ready for nicer weather.
1. What are you planning to do tomorrow? Clean up the house, do laundry, put away Peli's birthday stuff! Nothing too exciting... - 2. Are you comfortable with your height? This question made me think of elementary school, because I was taller than EVERYONE! (even the boys, except Bobby Smith!) But I was never uncomfortable with it, and especially since high school, I have LOVED being really tall. And watch out, cuz when I've got my big platform wedges on, I can be pushin' 6'2"... - 3. If you could change your eye color what would it be? I would NEVER change my eye color. I'm happy with my greenies, which I got from my dad. I do love those light sky-blue eyes, though, that look almost see-through... and those dark brown-black eyes (which my hubs and son both have)... - 4. How many pillows are on your bed? Probably about 10! Suka's not big on pillows, but I LOVE lots of big soft pillows, and my little one does too! (Grandma taught him all about the importance of "Cold Pillows" in bed ;) ) - 5. Is there someone you can't stop thinking about? I go through periods of time when I think about a certain person for a while (different people each time). - 6. When's the last time you cried? Yesterday! I'm knocked up, so I cry pretty much once every day or two... - 7. What's the longest you've ever talked on the phone? Hours and hours- one time, I was talking to my friend Brendan and we actually BOTH fell asleep for more than an hour before waking up and continuing our talk... so weird, I know! - 8. How did you get your last bruise? I get unexplained bruises all the time- what's up with that?! I think my last explainable bruise was from Peli accidentally whacking me. - 9. Who is in your house right now? Just the three of us: me, Suka, Peli - 10. What' s your favorite season? I love fall. But I love barbecuing and going to Bear Lake in the summer and I love winter clothes and boots! - 11. Has it snowed recently? yes - 12. How many piercings do you have? I have had SEVEN total (that sounds like alot!) but right now I just wear two. - 13. Do you believe there are certain circumstances where cheating is ok? No - 14. Do you wanna have children? Um... too late! jk- I always wanted alot of kids, like 5. Now I have one and another on the way. - 15. Do you have any siblings? 4 brothers - 16. Do you like to cuddle? It depends- sometimes I need that affection, but most of the time, not so much. Is that bad? - 17. Who was the last person you hugged? My Dad. (awwwwww....) - 18. Do you ever wonder how other people see you? Yes, because I've had people tell me things that have surprised me! Some people have told me they think I'm really intimidating, while others see me as quieter and more reserved... still others have told me how sarcastic and full of attitude I am... so I do wonder cuz apparently I'm not consistent! - 19. Are you the type of person who likes to be out or home? I love to be home, no question. But the occasional dinner out or movie is so fun! - 20. Last time you went swimming? September I think. - 21. What do you want for your birthday? I really want to go out to a movie and dinner! So fun. And I've been needing a new phone... - 22. Anything you're giving up on? Usually! No, that sounds bad. I don't like to think I give up on things, but once in a while I do throw my hands up and tell myself "I'm Done!" Does that count? - 23. Do you hate being lonely? I don't hate being alone, which is different. I'm fine on my own. But I do hate the feeling that something fantastic is going on and I'm missing it! - 24. What hurts more, to forgive for someone's wrong-doing or to forget? Forgiving can really hurt. Forgetting doesn't usually happen with me... something I've been working on since I got married... - 25. Is there something that reminds you of someone every time you see/hear it? OH YES!! I'm horrible with this! Songs, movies, clothes, jewelry, places... everything reminds me of someone! - 26. Do you think you can last in a relationship for over 3 months? Been married for four years, so that's a start! - 27. Have you ever had a best friend who was of the opposite sex? Most of my best friends have been guys, actually! Almost all of them! - 28. Have you ever been nice to someone who treated you like crap? I need clarification: did they treat me like crap first? I've certainly been treated like crap AFTER I was nice. I'm generally not the person who is super-nice AFTER being treated like crap. I have a cold side, for sure. - 29. Do you currently have a hickey? No! and that question made me laugh. - 30. Have you ever sent a text to the wrong person? No, but I ALMOST sent an email to the wrong person and it would have been scary... - 31. When was the last time you got a haircut? Way too long! I cut my own hair, and it's probably been 3 months (but I AM growing it out some) - 32. Do you like movie nights? Love movie nights, but we don't go out that much- we love to hang with Peli! - 33. What color are your eyes? green - 34. Has someone of the opposite sex ever told you they loved you? Yes - 35. When's the last time you were in a photo booth taking pictures with friends? It had been years but Suka and Peli and I took booth pics last summer! Before that, I think it was like 8 years ago or something... - 36. Are you mad about anything? Not at this moment, but that changes about every 37 seconds... - 37. Are you listening to music? Not right now. - 38. Are you planning on going to college? Not currently- I went to about a year of college, and I've always been interested in going back. We'll see... I'm doing the young kid thing right now, and that's about all I can handle! - 39. What Date will you never forget? I had a date once that was straight out of a sitcom- I'd only met the guy once, and he was really sweet and nice, but he had the loudest, yelling voice EVER! even when he was just talking normal... I was SO uncomfortable while we were out eating but I was relieved that we were at Winger's cuz that's a louder place to be. It was like he was YELLING AT ALL TIMES! Like my hair would be blowing in the breeze of his voice from across the table! It was bad. It was one of those where I felt kind of bad not going out with him again because he was genuinely a good guy... but I just couldn't get over that one thing!
So, I emailed Suka the same 20 questions I answered a few days ago about him... and he DID it!! I must say, he did pretty well. I did add a few comments of my own, of course... - HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR WIFE? -by Suka

Anyone who reads this, I challenge you to fill it out about your hubby!
What are your middle names? Mine is Ann; Suka doesn’t have one (but his first name makes up for it: Sukanaivalu!)
How long have you been together? We met the last week of Feb. 2004 so we’ve known each other five years! We’ve been married for four.
How long did you know each other before you started dating? It was right off.
Who asked who out? At first- I was hesitant to get ‘too involved’ because I didn’t think Suka was really my type! He wasn’t like anyone else in my life or anyone else I’d dated. In the very beginning, he was really persistent and kept calling me.

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Hard question! I would probably have to say Communication- not often, just once in a while. Who is the neat Freak? We both like things clean, but we’re not freaks about it.
Who is the more stubborn? Hello, have you met me?
Who hogs the bed? This is funny- when we were first married, Suka was a VIOLENT sleeper! He would swing his limbs around when he was totally sleeping- one time I even got a black eye! He’s cured of that now, but he still takes up more space- unless Peli’s sleeping with us, then HE does. The other thing is when I’m pregnant, I take up more space cuz I’m on my side, legs bent, pillow under belly, pillow between knees, blah blah blah… oh the joys…
