addicted.

If you haven't seen or heard of 'Pinterest' yet, you are
Missing.  Out.
It's pretty much the awesomest thing.
It's a website where you can browse a variety of photos
and you can 'pin' anything you like or want to be able to reference
later to your 'boards.'  Your boards are like online corkboards.
You can organize them any way you like.
You can 'follow' others' boards if you want to, too.
A few of my favorite things:
-
This doggie reminds me of Bronx

There's tons of kid stuff on Pinterest-
including stuff like this Eagles football hat,
as well as project ideas, learning activities and other kid stuff.

Lots and lots of recipes, like these football chocolate strawberries,

and copycat recipes like this for PF Changs lettuce wraps.

There's a bunch of hairstyle, makeup and style stuff

But probably my favorite things on Pinterest
are the 'prints' or quotes, like these:

And if you need an invitation, let me know and I'll send you one!
Happy Pinning! ...and if I failed to warn you before,
you will be addicted.

see the dude?

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01766/supermarket_1766214i.jpg
 The Dude is a chinese artist who paints himself to camouflage into
various backgrounds...  it's cool, but it makes me wonder
how he has so much time ?? ...

how long will you live?

Bored much?

I am not... but I needed a 2-second break, so I just
took a very clinically-tried and scientifically-sound and hypo-allergenic test
which told me how old I will be when I die!

My magic number is...

I'm good with that.

You can take the little quizzie by clicking HERE.

Suka and Peli's stick figures

So, last night Suka showed me this lovely portrait he'd created:
Stick Figure Family at FreeFlashToys.com
My first question was "Why am I pregnant?"
then "Why am I wearing glasses?  And a fireman's hat?" oh dear.
And "Is there something wrong with Peli's eye or is he a pirate?"
"And why are you a cowboy?"
"And why does our 8 month old have boobs?"
"Do you even know what we look like?!"
-
Once Peli saw it, he wanted to "Play"...
so here is Peli's version of us:
Stick Figure Family at FreeFlashToys.com
Not too shabby!
Other than I don't get why Raini is a Basketball-playing Police Officer.
-
Here's my version, which clearly is not as fun as the boyz' versions

Perfect Cookies ?

I have NOT made cookies from scratch, literally, in years.
Whenever I make them, they end up overcooked, or uneven, or weird-shaped.
I consider myself to be a decent cook,
but homemade cookies never seem to look and taste right!
BUT... the other day I saw this post on Kami's blog with some Special Secret Cookie Tips
and I was ... inspired.
So Peli and I got to work yesterday:
{Peli was so excited and proud to be such a great helper}
{I think this was his favorite part- pushing the dough out of our
Special Cookie Dough Spoon}
We followed every step Kami had shared...
and look what we ended up with:
I cannot tell you how stoked- and surprised- I was.
These cookies were perfectly-evenly-cooked-
not brown on the bottom and soft on top, like usual...
They tasted great and looked just as good!
Thanks to Kami (and her bro-in-law)
- and to Peli !!
Wish you could taste 'em!

fortunately; unfortunately

This is a weird little game where you go to google and type in "Fortunately, [your name]" and see what weird sentences come up! Then you do the same thing with "Unfortunately, [your name]". I tried it with both my name and Suka's. Yes, I was bored! But some of these are so weird!
---
"Fortunately, Brittany's 18 now."
"Fortunately, Brittany‘s friend was, in reality, a 35-year-old law enforcement officer." (Oh dear, what was Brittany up to!!??)
"Fortunately, Brittany shows no tendency to grow up in a hurry."
"Fortunately, Brittany did not have the abortion."
"Fortunately, Brittany had something else to fall back on."
"Fortunately, Brittany is really good about doing laundry."
"Fortunately, Brittany fits my criteria." (Well, that's nice to hear...)
---
"Fortunately, Suka appears more-or-less okay with the noise."
"Fortunately, Suka returned on his own." (I say this every night... jk)
"Fortunately, Suka finally calmed down enough to get a firmer grip on the tray"
"Fortunately, Suka means 'One who is sorry is exempt'" (Oooooo, deep thoughts...)
---
"Unfortunately, Brittany did not reprise her role."
"Unfortunately, Brittany Spaniels along with other breeds end up in rescue situations for a number of reasons." (I didn't know I had my own breed of dog!)
"Unfortunately, Brittany didn’t get to kiss Zac Efron in 'Hairpsray.'" (Ewww... not a fan...)
"Unfortunately, Brittany fell."
---
"Unfortunately, Suka’s thoughts were not in portage." (portage?!)
"Unfortunately, Suka will not be accepting any more members."
"Unfortunately, Suka had great service." (what kind of service?!...)
"Unfortunately, Suka had no perfect answer."
---
So, that's it. If you're bored for a minute, try this with your name.

Couple's 25 Questions...

25 Things About Us Tag
  • What are your middle names? Mine is Ann; Suka doesn’t have one (but his first name makes up for it: Sukanaivalu!)
  • How long have you been together? We met the last week of Feb. 2004 so we’ve known each other five years! We’ve been married for four.

  • How long did you know each other before you started dating? It was right off.
  • Who asked who out? At first- I was hesitant to get ‘too involved’ because I didn’t think Suka was really my type! He wasn’t like anyone else in my life or anyone else I’d dated. In the very beginning, he was really persistent and kept calling me.
  • How old are each of you? Both 31- but I’m six months older.
  • Whose siblings do you see the most? Mine! His are in Fiji.
  • Do you have any children together? Peli’s almost 3 and a girl on the way ;)
  • What about pets? No, but my family has Bronx.
  • Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Hard question! I would probably have to say Communication- not often, just once in a while. I’m a fast-talking, sarcastic haole chick and Suka’s an easy-going poly from the Bush! Really, if you think about it, I don’t know how we communicate as well as we do!
  • Did you go to the same school? No (unless you count that we both attended BYU at different times)
  • Are you from the same home town? SOOOO Not.
  • Who is the smartest? Depends.
  • Who is the most sensitive? Totally me. I swear Suka has armor on sometimes!
  • Where do you eat out most as a couple? We hardly ever eat out. On our anniversary we like to go to Tepanyaki. We also like Café Rio and L&Ls.
  • Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple? Fiji
  • Who has the craziest exes? We don’t talk a lot about our exes! Suka’s probably got a couple, but I have a couple who were funny-crazy, not CRAZY-crazy…
  • Who has the worst temper? Me, no question.
  • Who does the cooking? When we lived in Provo, it was Suka, but now it’s me. I feel like I have the time and energy now to try new things and plan out nice meals.
  • Who is more social? Tricky… probably me. Suka tends to be more reserved and quiet unless he’s with his friends or family… or he’s teasing me.
  • Who is the neat Freak? We both like things clean, but we’re not freaks about it.
  • Who is the more stubborn? Hello, have you met me?
  • Who hogs the bed? This is funny- when we were first married, Suka was a VIOLENT sleeper! He would swing his limbs around when he was totally sleeping- one time I even got a black eye! He’s cured of that now, but he still takes up more space- unless Peli’s sleeping with us, then HE does. The other thing is when I’m pregnant, I take up more space cuz I’m on my side, legs bent, pillow under belly, pillow between knees, blah blah blah… oh the joys…
  • Who wakes up earlier? When I was working, we woke up together, but now it’s Suka, unless Peli wakes up early.
  • Where was your first date? in Hawaii- we ate some lunch, drove to the beach and I met his aunt and uncle on the base.
  • Who has the bigger family? My immediate family is bigger but I think Suka’s extended family is probably bigger (he’s poly, after all)
  • Do you get flowers often? No- only when Suka’s really, really sorry about something and doesn’t know what else to do to say so:)
  • How do you spend the holidays? Depends- often with my family, eating and hanging out.

  • Who is more jealous? We’re not very jealous, really.
  • How long did it take to get serious? Maybe 3 months.
  • Who eats more? I eat more often, but Suka eats more at each sitting.
  • Who does the laundry? We both do- Suka helps with laundry a lot!
  • Who’s better with the computer? I’m a faster typer, other than that it's probably even.
  • Who drives when you are together? I used to drive all the time, now it’s probably even.

First-Born Tag & some photos

{You'll have to excuse my no-makeup-face...
but I thought this picture was so fun and happy!
We were trying to take a picture of me and Peli giving each other a kiss-
but right before the camera would flash, Peli would pull away and laugh-
he was just teasing me...}

I actually got tagged with this on Facebook, but I thought it would be fun to blog it!
-
Here you go mommies- a different kind of survey for a change - it's all about your your first born!
  1. WAS YOUR FIRST PREGNANCY PLANNED? It was a “Whenever it happens…” kind of thing. I was not on birth control.

  8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Absolutely. I’m not into those kinds of surprises…
  9. DUE DATE? March 2, 2006.
  10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? Yes, but just from week 7 to week 12. I had horrible headaches the whole time though, and back pain.

  17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? We knew.
  18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? No, except after delivery I was told there had been a possibility I’d need a transfusion due to anemia/low blood iron. 19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? UVRMC/Provo
  20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? I was induced at about 7am, started pushing at 1:15, delivered at 1:34pm. It was heaven.

  22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Suka and my mom.
  23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? natural
  24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? Hell yeah! Whatever they’d give me!

  28. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY? He’ll be 3 in 3 weeks!

Any of you who have a kid should do this survey- it's fun to think back!

{Below is Peli on his beloved Cars couch. He had ordered me

to put his blankie over his toes... btw- this is a blanket my mom

used with my brothers!}

{Hang Loose... or as Peli says it "Hang Noose"}

{I had just finished vacuuming, and Peli got all his cars out and lined them,
then told me to "Hurry" and take a picture!}
{Daddy and Peli}
{I HAD to take this one- cuz look at his plate!!
It is a PIE PLATE that you cook a pie on!
He filled it up and overflowing with spaghetti (one of his faves)
and ate the whole thing}
{RAWR}
{His hair looks kinda girlie here- his headband had fallen back!}
